There are a few new photos in a September photo album.

(No improvement for Laura, yet. She’s having worse trouble throughout the day with vomiting. Will be talking to oncologist tomorrow for coping tips.)

Hi David & Laura, thought I would share a good recipe that was given to me by a lady that was taking chemo back in the spring…her mother cooked this for friends and neighbors when someone was sick and she swore by it…she was eating it a lot during her chemo when she had trouble eating solid foods….Momma helped me “tweak it a bit” and of course we used “fresh” eggs from Poppa’s chickens! It is sort of a thin custard, full of protein and sugar…
Step 1.Scald 2 cups of whole milk in the microwave, cooking for about 3 minutes (don’t let it boil over), Step 2. Stir together 1 cup sugar, 1/4 cup whole milk, 3 egg yolks, 3 Tablespooons cornstarch and a pinch of salt. Step 3. Pour scaled milk in the egg mixture and stir together. Step 4. Pour into a double boiler and cook to the consistency best for eating(Thin or Thick) Step 5. Remove from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 Tablespoon of butter(optional).
If you want to make this a chocolate mixture, add 2-3 Tablespoons of cocoa into the egg/sugar mixture.
Maybe this will be something nourishing and something easy to eat/drink. Wish we could make it and bring it to you. love Janice
