Last weekend began an early spring in New England and the girls were eager to stop at the cemetery. Laura decided on a bench for the grave monument because she wanted the site to be a place where the girls could visit and stay a while. So I think it’s a fitting tribute on Laura’s birthday today to see the girls running and playing. The music is Kids by MGMT, which we happened to be listening to in the car as we drove up. It’s annoying but catchy, and gets stuck in our heads for hours at a time. Enjoy…

Thanks for the sweet video … Jake & Sofie like MGMT, too … they did “Art is Everywhere” on Yo Gabba Gabba.
Happy Birthday, Laura … love & miss you.

Such a scene of vitality and joy! Lily doing (almost) cartwheels! Naomi caressing the moss! Both girls skipping and running! Thank you for this touching tribute to Laura and to your whole family. We love you all.

I simply love the fact that this cemetery is alive with the laughter and joy of children. I could imagine the people of the graves that Lily & Naomi were visiting, smiling to see happiness in their place. Having had my brother-in-law die suddenly 11 months after Laura (he was 38 with a wife and 2 small girls), I am struck by the fact that we have a younger generation who is dealing with death in a very open and loving manner at such a young age. Death, wakes, and funerals were rather hidden from children when I was little, but I hope that this new generation will learn that death is nothing to shun or keep private. This was a true joy to see, David. Thank you!
